The current Executive Committee (ExCo) members of the LCA YAN and their respective positions are as follows:
Naa Amorkor is an Associate Partner at AB & David and heads the ADR practice in the firm. She has extensive experience in litigation and arbitration involving complex financial and construction issues.
She sits as an arbitrator in domestic arbitration and represents clients as counsel in both domestic and international arbitration.
Amorkor is an alumnus of the Slaughter & May Explore programme and the Africa Arbitration Academy. Amorkor also completed the International Lawyers for Africa (ILFA) secondment programme with Hogan Lovells International LLP in London in 2021. While there, she was involved in disputes in the finance sector, hospitality and entertainment among other areas of law. She has held leadership positions in her arbitration career and currently a Steering Committee member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb), Ghana Chapter as well as the Secretary of the Chapter. She is also a Delos Guide to Arbitration Places (GAP) reviewer for Ghana. Amorkor holds an LLM from Queen Mary University of London, UK, an LLB and a combined degree in Applied Chemistry & Environmental Science. One of her passions is supporting SMEs and start-ups to manage their disputes to remain sustainable and profitable.
Daniel is an experienced and dedicated professional known for his meticulous approach to each case he handles. With a diverse background in dispute resolution, he has successfully assisted clients in various areas, including construction, data security, energy and general project advisory.
He is skilled at navigating the complexities of legal disputes and adept at securing amicable and advantageous settlements. One of Daniel’s notable areas of expertise is arbitration. He has gained extensive experience through training and hands-on involvement as counsel, arbitral secretary, and guiding colleagues on arbitration procedures and strategies.
As a litigation Lawyer, Daniel has argued cases before all superior courts of record in Nigeria, including notable tribunals. One of his greatest strengths is simplifying intricate disputes and devising logical, client-focused solutions.
Daniel is a senior associate at Broderick Bozimo & Company, the co-chair of the Lagos Court of Arbitration Young Arbitrators Network (LCA-YAN), the Nigeria rapporteur for the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) Yearbook Publication and an active member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is pursuing a master’s degree in international Dispute Resolution at Queen Mary University, London.
IfeOluwa Alabi is an Associate at Hogan Lovells and a member of the firm’s global Africa practice in London. Admitted to practice in Nigeria, England and Wales, IfeOluwa represents multinationals, states and state entities in complex, high-value, cross-border international arbitrations and court proceedings. With particular experience in Africa-related disputes and risk management in emerging markets, he has a strong track record of navigating complex cross-border transactions.
He has experience in matters before the English courts and in arbitration disputes under the major arbitral rules, including UNCITRAL, ICC and the LCIA Rules. Before joining Hogan Lovells, IfeOluwa practiced as an attorney at a boutique international arbitration firm in London and worked at a leading commercial litigation law firm in Nigeria, gaining extensive experience in both international and domestic dispute resolution.
Toheeb is an Associate at ALN Nigeria | Aluko & Oyebode. He is a qualified lawyer with cognate experience in international arbitration and commercial litigation. He holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree in International Business Law with Distinction from The University of Law in London, United Kingdom. Toheeb’s legal practice has seen him involved in a wide array of commercial and investment arbitrations under the rules of ICSID, LCIA, ICC, DIAC, AAA/ICDR, RCICAL, and as both counsel and tribunal secretary. Additionally, he has represented clients in litigation before Nigeria’s superior courts. He has also assisted in litigation in the courts of England and Wales. Toheeb frequently coaches mooting teams in arbitration-focused competitions. He is the founder of ADR Discourse, an organisation dedicated to educating participants on Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) mechanisms, including arbitration and mediation. Toheeb was recognised as the Young Arbitration Practitioner of the Year at the Africa Arbitration Awards held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in September 2024. This recognition celebrates remarkable contributions to arbitration by a practitioner under the age of 40.
Deborah is a Senior Associate at Nyachoti & Partners Advocates, a boutique dispute resolution and corporate commercial law firm in Nairobi, Kenya. She is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). She has also previously served as Chair, Arbitration Sub-committee of the Law Society of Kenya ADR Committee (2022 – 2024). Her practice focuses on construction, infrastructure and commercial disputes mainly in arbitration and Dispute Adjudication Boards where she routinely sits as Arbitrator, represents parties and serves as Tribunal Secretary in a variety of institutional and ad-hoc cases. Deborah also has vast experience in commercial litigation and advisory including corporate governance, insurance and pension practice
